Got to admit, am never familiar with our local Filipino designers, and that's a shame. I guess there's no one out there that's gotten my attention or the fact that the fashion scene here is just getting born for the last ten years. It's a long process but am glad year after year it's getting better. Especially noticeably last year, 2009 or am just late to notice but either way Filipinos are more fashion forward now and that's a good sign.

So here is Cary Santiago, the first Filipino designer to set foot in a couture house in Beirut. He's based in Cebu now after many years of mastering his craft at the Fashion Capital of the Middle East at Lebanon, doing couture designs. His creations are more of an evening dresses with a characteristic of flamboyance and a lot of womanly curves. It's gorgeous right? Especially those cut out dresses. By the way, this is the first time i saw his collection at a Society magazine two weeks ago and suddenly felt the urge of stealing some shots to show you my first-found-love-Filipino design. And that night i dreamed of the second dress.

And i did a little more research of his works, so here's what i found, Cary Santiago for Folded and Hung.
