The best thing about having a blog is receiving emails almost everyday, from different set of people, ages and race. But I don't get that many though. 4 average and 10 max and half of them say that i WON a million dollars on a UK lotto. Barf! I suppose that's the whole point of having a blog, to connect to people. They ask you about almost anything and everything. Most of the time i get my inspiration from them. So am warning you, this post is a bit cheesy. So please bear with me. hihihi. Having said so, a few weeks ago i received an email from a girl, and she's about to get married in 4 months time. In short she's asking for my advice and tips for building a good marriage. Well she's 20 years young. Yeah that young. I was a little surprised cos i am no expert to give out such advice, having failed in so many relationships in the past. Well come to think of it. Thank God they all failed, or am having a husband now and four other boyfriends simultaneously right? There's goodness in failure after all. hihihi.

Anyway going back, am really flattered, cos husband and I were only married for 18 months now. So It's extremely short time compared to those who are married for years and years. But I answered as best as i could, based on our four years together.

Well, like any other couple, we did not agree on everything, of course. But we never really argued. And ,I thank God, I just got lucky. I don't ever remember once sitting down and mapping out a blueprint. It just became "we", instead of "I" very naturally and easily. And you live as you never have before, despite problems, separations, and conflicts. I suppose mainly you have to be willing to want to give.

It's not always 50-50. Sometimes one partner gives 80%. But then sometimes the other one does, so it all evens out after all. It's not always easy. I think it boils down to being willing to try to understand, to give of yourself, to be supportive. And above all else you must be sure that the person you're about to marry, is the only one you would want to spend the rest of your forever and ever and ever with. Wooooohoohooo. Did that scare you? hihihii.

And of course L O V E. Married or not, when two people really love each other, they help each other stay alive and grow beautifully together. I can't remember what my life was like before, and I can't imagine not being with Jayson.

So i wish you good, happy life ahead. And if all else fail, please don't sue me. hihihhi.

It's a nice day. Just had a late lunch of pizza, fried chicken and lasagna. Later am thinking of getting a hotdog sandwich and ice cream and chicharon (fried pig's skin). YUM. hhihihii. Anyway, last night i got to watch The Brothers Bloom for the third time aaaaaaaand am gonna watch it again. Maybe you should watch it too, if you haven't. The movie's amazing. Penelope and her yellow car double amazing! My eyes were glued on Penelope's and Bang Bang's clothes the entire movie. hihihi. You should watch it. Funny and cute. Oh, Am not sure if you'll agree with me on this, but i really find Adrien Brody so cute. I have a thing with weird nose.
So this dress am wearing is actually just a top. I got this on 75% off from Oxygen. When i saw the cut am imagining it as a dress so I asked for the largest size. So that's the little story behind this dress.

How's everybody? I used to not like Mondays but today Monday is good to me.

Thank God I am flat or this skirt can't be worn as a tube dress. I just love this skirt, it's soooo long am stepping on it, and It's the blackest black i've seen. My love for frills was satisfied by this one too. Have i told you that it's finally getting cold here? Yes it is. So i wore this fantastic vest I thrifted last summer. It's not close to fur, but this one will do.

So what an interesting dress huh? Soon as I saw it, I had to have it. It's cheap, It's a bit unusual so it must look special when worn. And am right. hihihi. I like the details of this soft fabric and the fact that it sways makes it so comfortable. The two pockets on each side makes this dress special, and weird at least for me. I hope you can see the baggy pocket details. It's like an extra hip. hihihi.
Am excited for the next coming months, cos I can feel the cold wind already. That means i can wear all my jackets i thrifted last summer. This one am wearing is one of them. Am glad i got this. At first am not sure about the print but it slowly grew on me. I think I can wear this with anything.

Well it's a sunless day today. Thank God it didn't rain. I love weather like this. Just perfect.

Last outfit for this week. Wore this yesterday for coffee date with husband. Drove around first to take a photo of this bow-y outfit. Well, I almost forgot about this dress. I bought this last April, on the heat summer, and got kept on the back of the closet. I almost feel sorry for her. Not that i favor my thrift finds more, it's just that i forgot about her. hihihhii. If only she can talk, am gonna hear a lot of bitch talking perhaps. hihiiihihhi.
wow it's getting cold here now. I like cold weather. Am currently resurrecting my jackets and knit vest i thrifted last summer. Funny, buying jacket, boleros and vest on summer.

the jewelries am wearing were from my Mother. She gave it to me to be worn with my wedding dress. The happiest day of my life. So happy nervous, i was close to peeing my dress. But i didn't pee the whole day, just thinking about how to sit on the bowl makes me more nervous. Amazing right? You see, i don't buy jewelries. I just waited every year for my mom's hand me downs. Maybe I am. Between being an Economist or Environmentalist, I guess, I am the latter. Given that I love second hand shopping/thrifting/Ukay-ukay, that constitutes to recycling right? Other people's junk is treasure for me. And to emphasize that i limit my farting to once a day, I don't spit on the ground, i don't burn things, I guess am doing my part in preserving our planet. hihihii. So if you like shopping on the Mall for brand new stuff, then good for you, Economist. Term Shopaholic is so last season, and it sound slike you have a sickness or something. I think, Economist is politically much correct. Agree? Let's not look at it as spending excessively, cos if we don't shop, millions of people will lose their jobs. So hand in hand it's working for good.
So this afternoon we took Koffy walking. And I wore my Blue Willis top i just recently thrifted for 50php(1$). Cool right. Thrifting is really an amazing thing. Truly makes me happy whenever i find stuff I know I would never buy (mainly because they're expensive) outside thrift stores.

I got this amazing denim and lace jacket for 20php (half dollar). Yeah 20php! You heard me right. Am not kidding, not lying, am for real. hihihii. I wonder why people before me didn't see this one. It looks amazing right? Cheap and gorgeous and design-y. You know what's funny, that the dry cleaning cost more than the actual price of this thrift find. hihihi. And this dress, it's from my thrifting too. Obviously when you dress up to go out and accidentally match the floor, that pretty much sums up your good rapport with fate.

Most people I know are relaxed when they put on pants. , But I, think that wearing jeans is stressful, that it requires so much effort than wearing a dress which you just have to slip on and then whalaah! Voila! Because for me a pair of jeans needs a top, that needs to be styled and had to consider the length, then there's the issue of a belt. Should you wear one, if so, how thin or thick? And my problem with jeans: do the length and the width of the pants hem go with the shoes? And don't let me discuss the silhouette.(am i talking too fast?) hihihihihii! And besides am short. Jeans cut my body that makes me look even smaller. Well, Ive always thought that putting on a dress is a no-brainer and there's always something about a dress that makes you look, well, dressed up isn't it? It gives the impression that you made an effort, even if all you really did was zip it up. hihihii. Am I right or am I correct? And i feel good in a dress. It makes me happy, I don't know. Maybe it's a girl thing.

So today i wore my fave dress. I've worn this a couple of times before with a cardigan, different accessory and different shoe. I really like this dress cos it's very comfy, it doesn't squish my stomach and there's plenty of room to move and jump around. Best part about this dress? : i got it on Sale. 70% off! Yey!

Sometimes I keep wondering when do a man and a woman really fall in love? Am sure it will bring a lot of stories from you but am thinking, could it be during the first time they hold hands, a first kiss, the first time they shared souls? When they make up after their first fight? Or each morning when they wake up, side by side, to the promise of a new day? Or is it when they tumble into bed at night, exhausted but content from the responsibilities and accomplishments of supporting and raising a family? Maybe when an illness or brush with death has taught them that life is a sacred gift and so very fleeting? Or perhaps it's each and every time their hearts make a connection..... Now i just pray that all of us are making and feeling that connection.

I've learned not to question some things in life, but rather offer thanks on their behalf, as now : the gift of life, hugging koffy and being able to smell and kiss my husband everyday. That's enough for me.

Life or Something like it

Life must go on, but i don't feel like it should be now.
Last night i braved watching the news. It broke me more than i thought something this huge can ever put my heart to great sorrow. I know we all are. We're all mourning. And as each and everyone mourns differently i want to do my part. Am saying goodbye for a while. You all know what my blog is all about. I can't blog about clothes and what am wearing when thousands of Filipinos has nothing to wear. It's just not right.

Give me days or weeks or a month. I will be back. It doesn't feel enough just to give, giving isn't enough till some part of you hurts and am desperately wanting to give more than what am capable of. Honestly and shamefully on my part, i have never sacrificed anything in great lengths to help people i don't know. I think it's time to step out of my comfort zone.

Ill miss blogging. Ill miss you. But ill see you again.

So this is what i wore last Friday on our Anniversary dinner. It's yellow, such vintage for its design and i love polka dots, and good cos it's making its way now again on the runway. The best part is i got this on thrift. Yey! 90php (2$). Yellow and dots makes me happy and giddy and excited. I can never imagine wearing this dress and sulk the whole time. Just not possible.
Anyway the date was quick. Typhoon was coming, and here in the province strong wind is an understatement. Why? Cos it's not just wind, but some branches of trees flying along with it, we just can't take the chance driving home in the middle of the storm and avoiding toppled electrical posts and trees. We've experienced that three years ago and it scared the hell out of me. I was so sure i was gonna die..... Okay. Over acting on my part. hihihiih. But really, i did.
We're supposed to go to this farm to photograph this outfit but we never made it cos quite unexpectedly of the heavy rain and angry wind that started on a Friday afternoon. Frankly i was not aware that it's flooding already in Metro Manila if not from my pregnant friend who's by the way already experiencing contraction since Friday. That really got me so worried. I just prayed for the safety of all my friends living in the Metro area especially for her not to give birth yet till the flood situation got stabilized first.
So where is Minnie Mouse coming in all these? Isn't it obvious? I am her. When we got home i saw my mirror reflection one last time before changing and thinking my outfit looks specifically like ....something. I kept thinking and i saw the Tom and Gerry dvd sitting on our bed and OMG i am dressed like Minnie Mouse. Total copy cat. hihihhihi. Am telling you the discovery was hilarious. Okay see for yourself.

All i need is a pink bow, mouse ear and tail and am good for Halloween. hihihihi. Brilliant right?
Am i a cartoon or a loony or a mouse?

It all came back to me. While we're on a date, obviously I am Minnie, Husband is Mickey and Koffy is Pluto. hihihihi. Cos we took him with us. Maybe that's the reason we got all those stares.

Drove to the city to have lunch with one of the best friends, only got stuck in traffic that led to a late lunch date, so in order not to shock the empty stomach we ate cupcakes while window shopping and forgot to take a decent outfit photo. So photos forgotten and still fidgeting from hunger we sat at Krispy Kreme, ate doughnuts and drank lots of iced latte. Am thinking after over feeding ourselves with sugar and dough, lunch should be light and healthier than sugar. But the pregnant best friend's baby (still inside her bump) decided she wants a pizza. So yeah! More dough and double serving of cheese is the best way to end the frenzy carb load fest. hihihi. Pregnancy and hormones....
Btw i thrift this jacket. 70php (1.5$). I am soooooo HAPPY! I am thinking the first owner of this jacket is into crazy stone and chain embellishments and the love for US army. I don't have the heart to remove the added design. I like things with history. Cute ei?

Thank you all so much for the sleeping advice you all gave me. I think am making great improvements. Two nights ago i went to bed at 9, slept around 10 and woke up at 12 midnight for i am sooooo hungry. So i grabbed the first food i saw. The apple. I think with each cracking bite i made, husband is slowly waking up. hihihi. Next time am going for bananas.

Well there is no Autumn and Winter season here in this hot place called Philippines, but that can't stop us from loving this collection.

Personally am attracted to the bib necklaces shown here, the polka dot pattern, of course the tulip skirts, the RED lips, the SHOULDERS, all the colors and the frills and the ruffles. Well basically all, minus the thigh high boots, coats and the impossibly warming leather and feather. As i have said, it is humid HOT here. So, as much as we can, we try to collaborate style and weather appropriate clothes.

We live in a two bedroom apartment. We sleep in the smaller room that has a patio and the view of the neighborhood. Did i say smaller room? Especially when you share it with a big dog, he kinda gets all the space. I have a feeling that in Koffy's point of view this is his room and we're taking all his space. So we're thinking of moving some things, just rearranging the bed and my dresser and the tv. Yeah just the bed, the Tv and the dresser. That's how small our room is. So where's our closet? The other big room that is! hihihihi.

What i love about this room is the huge glass doors. And this apartment has been home for us since we got married. I love this place. I remember the first day we moved here. We only have two of everything. Two glasses, two plates, two sets of fork and spoon and six seater dinning table. It's like our own little play house. It's nice to see some little additions since then. We're still playing house i think, just the two of us and of course with Koffy our first born.

I need a potion. A sleep potion, or a sleepy story or a sleep trick. But not a drug, just something, like a miraculous herb to put me to sleep early, say ten pm? I always have trouble sleeping for the past ten years. I haven't had a dream for a long time now. I hate it when my mind is busy, that usually happens at night, all night. I have these ideas and sudden energy to stand up and arrange things or a whim to look and find for something. Honestly i like the thought that am still up when Philippines is supposed to be asleep. hihihi. But i got to say am bored and tired now with this routine and am not getting any younger. Last night i woke up husband just to say i can't sleep. He's out of ways now. He's worried. I asked him many times to just punch me but he won't give in. I don't feel weak in the morning nor sick or anything. Sometimes four hours is good for me. Eight hours gives me headache. Is this normal? It's just that sometimes i get impatient waiting for me to fall asleep that's all.
Speaking of impatience. Abhie sent this summer floral dress to me a month ago. I can't wait for summer so i wore this the other day. A bit chilly for a rainy day but what the heck! i love the floral print of this one. Thanks Abhie!

Agathe left us a post saying she was off to Stockholm for a long weekend. And that long weekend turned into months of silence from her. It's so weird cos am still so obsessed with her. Been trying to find any clue as to where is she now. I guess we all miss her. Honestly she's the reason why i am blogging today. She's an inspiration. Four years ago when i first saw her blog i was smitten by her style and smile. She's not the typical spoiled rich girl sporting shoes and boots for the brand. Agathe herself is the BRAND.

Now....

There is an article on blogging in a Norway’s main business paper about blogging and its consequences – featuring Agathe.

According to the article, she came back to Stockholm to find that her husband had left, had a tough time, a fun summer and now seems to be enjoying life more and more again. At first she was living out of a suitcase and couldn’t blog and later felt a lot freer without having to rig her life around staging photos and blogging. She realized that in order to move on with life, she had to give up blogging.

oh! My heart broke into million pieces knowing this. I wish Agathe all the best in life. I hope this post won't be in any form of disrespect to her, with the privacy and peace she wanted. I guess we're all just shattered. She seemed a very nice, fun, loving person. Nobody deserve any kind of pain. I guess It really is bizarre that blogging is not all about a person's whole life, that after the curtain falls we all have our own personal lives much colorful than all the dresses and shoes we wear everyday. That there are more stories, anecdotes and feelings left unsaid.

In a virtual world such as blogging we can only be judged as to what people see in here. Sometimes i fear for my own blog. Seriously I do. That some people would hate me for keeping a record of what i wore here almost everyday, for posing and smiling big, and most of the time people are more interested in your private life more than what you limit to say and to share in your blog. That i can understand. Some people hates another person because they do not know them; and they will not know them because they hate them. Judgment prevents us from seeing the good that lies underneath appearance.
Id like to call Blogging as the tip of the iceberg of every person who has one, sometimes interpreted in many different ways depending on the intellect of the reader. And I am so lucky, really really lucky cos our readers; the witty and funny, happy people here are much more discerning and i say all very smart on recognizing what to agree with or to decline my personal ideas. I love comments and responses and criticism is very much welcome. You've all been so gracious, nice and respectful and for that I am very thankful. Maybe it wasn't said enough, but yes, I am always thankful to all of you.

Okay,,,, so this is what i wore yesterday on a car maintenance check up at Toyota, and while waiting we burned some time at a nearest mall, which to my surprise is on it's annual SALE. Yey!, but no yey, cos thousands of people are frenzy crazy when it comes to ANYTHING half off price. Well, who wouldn't right? Just bought some towels and socks. hihihi. I think that's the most neglected basic need of a person. And you know what, it's really fun watching people take advantage of this discount shopping, hear kids squeal and scream, and at the end of the day we just got hungrier from walking back and forth looking for a restaurant to eat that has no line of starving shopper.
So, my outfit, basically a jacket, my first thrift find two years ago. I like flowers so i bought it for 150php (3$). And this skirt and shoe i also got from thrifting a week ago. THe skirt's 50php (1$), and the leather shoe for 150php (3$). Wow the shoe is so comfortable, i walked on it for 6-7 hours and my toes are still alive when we got home. So yey! Great find, and i feeeeel soooo goooood! hihihihi.
