13 Going On 30

13goingon30

denise, age 13, wearing mommy's pearls and make up.

So am 30 today. Yey!
There's something about your 30th birthday's first morning you knew that is changed for the rest of your life. Between yesterday and today, it's a 180 spin and suddenly..... suddenly you have this thing on your mind that's never happened before, i have become, i have become..... aggghhhh it's on the tip of my tounge, Aha! - Intelligenter! Ah the wisdom that comes with age everyone's been waiting for. And it's now bestowed upon me.

You ask what do I want? Well this is the age where you can't ask for anything more cause seriously when do you ever ask for something that is EVER gonna happen? Again seriously? So i can't ask for anything more. Am good.

So am old today right? And what better way to start my year by doing mature, old people stuff. In no particular order am gonna do things I haven't done before.
  1. Buy my first thongs.
  2. Run up when the escalator is going down.
  3. Make out in public.
  4. Smoke my first cigarette or tobacco outside a coffee shop and give people dirty look.
  5. Drive 140kmph. Hopefully chased by the highway patrol.
  6. Go inside the most expensive restaurant, order water and ask for my birthday cake.
  7. Get drunk so hard, get wasted and throw up on the side of the road.
  8. Befriend a gay person. I figure since gays are so gonna rule the world, I have to device a plan to survive for the next 100 years. Cos only in my imaginary world i have gay best friends.
  9. "Accidentally" pee on a man's restroom.
  10. Get knocked up.
So that's it. What's your plan for today?

So this is what it feels like to have a penis huh? hihihi. shhh did i say that out loud? It's the huge rope thing dangling in front of me that makes me a little uncomfortable. I have to replace it soon with something more sophisticated and feminine. Like a ribbon or flower, or hmmmmm too feminine. But aside from that i love this dress. The middle part of it is sequined so it glitters when touched by light which is cool.

Anyway, i have a little announcement to make. Duh! So ill just say it. hehehe. After the series of 17 dresses (seems like forever huh?) comes to an end, we'll giveaway one dress. FUN! Pick one of your favorite dress and it's yours. So stay tuned. We're on number four now and I promise you the rest of it are equally interesting and all beautiful. Not bad for 1.5$ ei?

HAve a great weekend everyone!

Got to admit, am never familiar with our local Filipino designers, and that's a shame. I guess there's no one out there that's gotten my attention or the fact that the fashion scene here is just getting born for the last ten years. It's a long process but am glad year after year it's getting better. Especially noticeably last year, 2009 or am just late to notice but either way Filipinos are more fashion forward now and that's a good sign.

So here is Cary Santiago, the first Filipino designer to set foot in a couture house in Beirut. He's based in Cebu now after many years of mastering his craft at the Fashion Capital of the Middle East at Lebanon, doing couture designs. His creations are more of an evening dresses with a characteristic of flamboyance and a lot of womanly curves. It's gorgeous right? Especially those cut out dresses. By the way, this is the first time i saw his collection at a Society magazine two weeks ago and suddenly felt the urge of stealing some shots to show you my first-found-love-Filipino design. And that night i dreamed of the second dress.

And i did a little more research of his works, so here's what i found, Cary Santiago for Folded and Hung.

Oh-My-Dog-Hallelujah! I wanna get married again with this dress! hihihi. It will definitely cut down the cost of our wedding by half cos i bought this for only 1.5 dohla$. And I have to credit husband for finding this one. Yes it was him who first saw this dress, he picked it up and came to me with a funny look on his face, shrieking like a girl, like he's found a gem and showed it to me. And jackpot, my man's got taste. I made the right decision marrying him. Am i shallow?...hmmm - Through thick and thin, sickness and in health, mall shopping and thrifting, till the deadly-stinking-thrift-store- odor do us part. YES WE DO.

Have an amazing Wednesday everyone!
