Confession: I've never been to real nail spa. c",) I guess when you reached the age of 32 and made that confession, it's kind of a little embarrassing right? Plus the fact that you're a girl and never without a manicure since you were 18, that's double embarrassing.
I do my own nails. (It's my code for removing the nail polish and painting on it right away) Once every two weeks under a fluorescent light, on a dark silent night, on my kitchen table. It was lonely, got to admit. Or sometimes my friend comes over to do my nails. Again at home with Yllac on my lap. I love Yllac on my lap but it's never advisable to have a baby tugging your hair and all parts of you when you're having a supposed to be relaxing mani/pedi. Well my dear sweet husband who always suggest i should just go out and have a day for myself doing girly stuff like manicure would be better for me away from my demanding baby boy. Because this motherhood thing is really very overwhelming am a tell you, and i think I've already told you that a million times. But it really is. Once you become a Mom, your life will change in a snap. Overnight! The minute you pop out your baby, bam! you're not you anymore. There's this new life completely dependent on you and doing stuff for yourself becomes a challenge and less a priority and being spontaneous becomes a thing of the past. Like, out of the blue you're in the mood to see a late night movie, or a coffee run or a quick trip to the grocery consist of 30 minutes of getting ready just to buy one item.... Honestly I've been struggling with these thoughts for a very long time. There are days am so exhausted i just wanna lay numb and am thinking of how amazing the spa would be and manicure and massage and complete silence. I guess in order for me to stay sane as a mom I need alone time every once in a while. But i know me, am all talk and never had the courage to leave home without my baby boy.
So was I glad when Melai, oh Melai, Melai, Melai, the lovely Melai, (my sister from another mother I never knew) asked me if I wanted to try the Posh Nails Spa at Pampanga on my biiiiiirthday! On.my.biiiirthday! Talk about best biirthday eeeeveeer! (i say that every year) So i said YES! How dare I said no right? So we drove there and met the nicest, sweetest and accommodating-est people of Posh Nails Pampanga, was hands down the awesome spa people i've ever met in my entire life. c",) They sure made a very good impression on me. The place is cute, clean and relaxing and pink and purple. They gave me the grandest day ever. They gave me a massage, on both arms and legs and manicure and pedicure and scrub. Oh! It was good. They gave me a tour and explained all kinds of Posh services they offer. They have, of course mani/pedi, scrub, eyelash extension, nail extension, and all kinds of wax on ALL parts of your body.
Although Yllac was with me that day, am glad the spa was inside the mall (Walter Mart). Jayson and Yllac went along without me and did their father and son date and i believe they had an amazing time too. Now i know why Spas were made and what's it for. It is a place for people who just want to relax, not think of anything, especially what food to cook, or constantly thinking about the messy house, bedroom and play room, basically all kinds of mess and stress. It is a place for Moms. All kinds of Moms. So if you're a mom, a dog mom, cat mom, fish mom, or a mom without a child, a future mom, or a grandmom, or a male-mom, please do yourself a favor, set a day and go see Posh Nails Spa. An hour of complete relaxation can make a difference that gives you that renewed energy. Am sorry guys, I cannot recommend other spa because am pretty sold to Posh Nails and I tend to be super loyal. If you have time please visit their website to see their other services at a very reasonable price.
and look! Nails for males. Cute ei?
after an hour or so my baby is back on my lap. Yllac was like, enough manicure Mom, now let's do my thing. And off we go.
ps,

will be in my 3-O soon too... and guess what, iv never been to a nail spa ever too! haha and i thought it would be very embarrassing for me to admit that too. :-D i do my own nails too when i was still working in manila... pero now we have a neighbor who goes to our house every other week for me and my mom's nails! he's good, really good. :-) but a nail spa experience would be something not to be missed kahit isang beses lang i think hehe :D

That's alright, Den! I also don't frequent salons because I hate it when someone does my nails for me. :) I to to Beauty and Butter for my (every three months or so) nail care.
