left: Kate Spade. Right: DIY
Ever since this Kate Spade necklace came out last year I've been dying to make my own cheap version of it.
So here's the deal-io my girls, this Kate Spade necklace costs about 198$ and it's on sale now for 99$. Still I
don't have 99$ to afford this. But I have my dear darling husband who
bought me the jewels from Quiapo (that one time he went to Manila w/o me)
and the rest as they say is whaaalaaahhh!!!-here's-my-DIY-Kate-Spade-necklace-made-from-semi-scratch.
It's not magic but it's real easy... i pinky promise.
you will need:
laminating sheet
jewels ( Jayson bought these from WellManson, if you don't know this heavenly place, it's about time you do)
scissor
strong glue
chain
puncher
and the secret ingredient for this challenge project is IRON.
set your iron to it's hottest setting, sandwich your laminating sheet inside a light cotton shirt, and iron the laminating sheet slowly. Press hard as you do. It should give you a transparent look. Take it slow so there's no air or bubble locked between the sheet. yah following me???
draw the shape of the necklace using a sharpie. You can easily clean the edges using a cotton ball and acetone. And punch a hole.
add you jewels and chain. That's it. Isn't it easy and fun?
Please tell me you'll make your own version of this necklace too. Looks easy right? Because it is. If you have any question about this project, let's talk over at facebook.
Oh, can't wait to wear this bib necklace with all of my outfits. c",)
