White Kindle and White Booties

  • You know how people from another planet shop for their summer clothes when it's winter or fall just because summer clothes are on their cheapest price? Well am kinda doing it now - only with shoes. Again, still size 8, only a size 8 feet covered with cottage cheese. Imagine???? Anyway, ten years ago am obsessed with pink tops and white sneakers. Can you (again) imagine that???? Somehow the pink phase of my life faded eventually and I can't remember the exact moment when i finally said goodbye to my white sneaker. And since then I haven't bought any white shoe. A couple of weeks ago, while doing my power-"please-make-it-normal-delivery"-walk, i saw this white boots, and it's on 70% off. Aaaaand they have it on my pre-cottage cheese foot size. So i bought it. Am i smarter than grade 5 or what? Chorva lang!
  • Speaking of smart, well I think am smart. Just because i can read. LUL. In my two years of blogging there's something about me I haven't told you about. Yes. Am a reader. I can't be sure how good, or how extensive reader am I, but am goooood. From cereal boxes, to pantie liners, to the back of Chinese noodles, to magazines, to books, to tabloids or even those books written in languages I can never understand I.READ.THEM. I can only sleep after reading. Can't travel without a magazine or a book. Even if I don't have any plans or time to read them, am just more at peace knowing i have something to read with me. It's my security blanket. But newsflash - I don't read when am with someone. I only read when I don't talk. True story. So this Kindle is a gift from my not-so-third-world brother and his wife. It's so sweet. They know me so well. They're aware I don't like phones, or phones, or more phones or more phones with camera. Clearly technology doesn't agree with me. We don't get along, but Kindle I can grow old with you. We belong together. We're MFEO. Charing!

Baby Shower

It feels so surreal to think that in a couple of weeks now, it won't be just us anymore. Us, meaning just me and my husband. For so long it's only him i think and care about, - what he likes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner or just any snack. What sort of top that goes well with his shoe, or where he'd like to go, or just stay home and do nothing...those things we do for each other. For 5 years it's been just us. And now everything is about to change. Am glad and very excited that that chapter of our life is about to close, but am a little sad too, or maybe sad is not the right term. Missing maybe. Ill miss us. Sometimes 5 years feels so short and there are days it's a never-ending phase for us. It's time to put an end to it by having a baby. Our own baby - a little bit of me and my husband. That's a nice thought to put an end to all our questions.

Last weekend my best friends gave us a baby shower. It was so fun. I've never felt this much special and much loved for being bloated-ly carrying another human being. You know how bachelor/ bachelorette parties is a send off for a married life right? This baby shower signifies the end of an era for us. Not in a scary way though, maybe there's a little bit of chaos along the way but it sure feels like a lot of excitement, new beginnings and a lot of learning is about to unfold.

Last night I couldn't sleep at all. We were both awake till 4am. Am not sure if this is because am ready to pop anytime soon or my body refuses to sleep especially when my husband is home with me, or maybe because I wanted to seize every minute of us being together alone.

All i know is that there's a new chapter of our life (still blank at this moment) and we're gonna have a blast  writing on those pages soon as new parents.

ps,

we're in the process of moving to a new home and am still pregnant so everything is going to be slow. Even Denise Katipunera will take the back-est seat for now. But soon as we're settled everything will go back to normal.

Enjoy your week everyone!

Thankful

36th

Id like to think that am a person that takes a pause from time to time, look back and see how am I as an individual. Am pretty self centered - I can only compete with myself. If nothing goes wrong I hope that every new day is gonna be better than my yesterday. In every losing and winning moment of my life I will always be grateful.

I guess in this life no one is considered happy unless you make it as your sole interest in life, that is a decision to be happy. No matter what. When you're a happy person, you'll always be grateful, and it's not hard for other people to be infected, but be thankful too.

Am thankful for our lives. Am thankful for my marriage. Am thankful for my family and friends. Am thankful for this blog - for every friendship and opportunity it created for the past year. And right now on top of my head, am thankful for this pregnancy. Honestly this isn't an easy one. I never had any idea what pregnancy feels like actually. All i know/read are the ooohhhhs and aaahhhhs and romance about carrying a child. It never crossed my mind that this pregnancy will make me vomit all day long. That I won't be able to eat for four months. That I will be dehydrated and needed to be hospitalized. That I will throw up at the corner of a beautiful garden of Hong Kong Disneyland. That my hips will hurt (since my 8th week). That I will be tired all day long. That I will be moody. That (right now) I'll have sore hands and feet that hurts like arthritis. That I will feel dizzy. That carrying an additional 25 pounds is not an easy lift.....

But this is what I know. Pregnancy isn't always pretty, but it's the best thing that's ever happened to me.

I never knew about all of them until now. And am thankful I got to experience all that and cherish every one of them as a pregnancy badge Ill carry with me, for this is gonna be my only pregnancy in life.

Five years ago we wanted a big family. Now we're down to one. It's a decision we both made and we're happy about that. We've created a beautiful life that loves us back already no matter what.

We have a beautiful, simple life. I am grateful for all the blessings even unasked for. I love my husband and he loves me back. We have a handsome dog so adorable we just can't imagine our life without him.

Everything is good. Even if times are tough Ill continue to say that life is good. As long as we're healthy and still thrilled to live this life, I say life is good. And am forever grateful.

Since we don't have turkey here, am happy for the bucket of chicken we'll be eating whole day.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

At this point of my pregnancy I couldn't ask for anything more. I could not complain for more aches and discomfort too either. For those who haven't been pregnant, well, I feel like a crab lying on it's back now whenever i wanna get up from bed. It's that hard to get up. It takes a lot of planning and tricks to hoist myself up from bed. I look funny for sure. And ill keep that picture in my heart forever that I was once, you know, a crab.

Truth is I feel perfect. I know in my heart, nothing can go wrong anymore. It's the waiting that's driving me nuts sometime. So we're keeping ourselves busy. There's so much I wanted to tell you. But for now Am thankful for all of the good things happening for us. Am grateful, am thankful, am happy, we're good. Starting first week of December we're gonna move to a new place. Yey. Not an apartment this time, but a real house.

This baby is bringing us a lot of change. Good change. Funny, considering he/she is only pint-size. But our pint-size comes with a lot of joy, excitement, love and sure, mountains of dirty diapers. I say, bring it on.
