Hustle Bustle...

SAM_2789

oh there's the moon!!! (in case you're wondering)

To all the mothers out there who balance work and home, please tell me how you do it. A lot of days I feel like it's a go-go-go-go-go kind of day, with little things I have managed to keep together. The weekend seems to come and go just like that. I remember the first day I took Yllac to school, the same month I got offered a job, thinking how are we gonna do this? Jayson was working on a shifting schedule back then, I will be working too for full 8 hours. Sure! And I was - can i panic now? I was about to burst my brain when suddenly Jayson's boss took him out of shifting schedule and gave him a fine morning schedule for the rest of his life. Oh God hallelujah! we are indeed Jesus' babies here on earth! It was perfect. Easy and breezy. I would drop Yllac to school before 9am, and Jayson would pick him up at 3 in the afternoon. A whole two more hours of dad and son date before they pick me up at 5. This is our life here. The three of us. Go go go, busy and whirlwind. But things are about to change into caaaraaayzeeee territory before the year ends, because....hear this..- we are gonna move again to a new apartment! Yay!

Like or Not? Wooden Toothbrush

How cute and functional are these wooden toothbrushes from Izola with labels such as numbers and months to remind us to switch to a fresh new one every three months or as often as we like.

I like this. 12$ for a box of four, not bad at all. Plus it's made from sustainable bamboo and nylon bristles and it's cute. So I am sold.

How about you? Do you like it or not?

Bitter

I like taking my outfit photos at home, i really do. Especially now that it's so hot out there, the humidity will ruin everything - your make up, your outfit, your mood. That's why i have this theory that fashionable Filipinos deserve a recognition on the highest level, like Parisian level of chicness  for dressing up to the nines in spite of our all-year-round-summer weather. I am not exaggerating. Sometimes i look at international blogs and say to myself, try living in the Philippines, let's see how fashionable you really are. Okay I am a bit bitter and 218% jealous. But seriously speaking, take my challenge, live here for a week and let's see those boots, tights, and leather jacket say goodbye forever.

okay that's it.

sigh

anyway, i am not sorry for koffy's butt shot every time i take my photos at home. And Am kind of proud of his uni-ball. c",)

Stay At Home

It was never known to me the amount of guilt a mom feels whenever she's about to leave her child to someone else's care until today. It's like leaving a peace of your heart somewhere far away from you. You don't feel complete and your mind travels back home ahead of you.

We're supposed to go out today. Just me and my husband for a real date for the first time since we became parents. Yllac's more than 8 weeks young now and we're so lucky to have some help in our home whom we can entrust Yllac with. She's not a nanny. (Okay she's Koffy's nanny actually) But she's been with us since the fourth month of my pregnancy, when it became too difficult for me to perform all my household duties. I thank God for her because she's a trustworthy person, she's nice and I really love her. I've been training/familiarizing her with my son for the last two months and since Yllac is a lot bigger now I let her baby sit him in the afternoon for a little while. And I can tell, she's always looking forward to it. I don't know, but one thing is for sure, I am a jealous mom. c",)

So today, everything was set for our much awaited date. I've prepared everything for Yllac before we leave. We're not gonna be out for long, max is 3 hours, and by then Yllac will be asleep. I keep on convincing myself that He won't even notice that we're gone. Then i received a text from husband confirming our dinner date but I replied - NO, we can't, not for tonight. I just can't. Am not ready yet. Maybe ill wait for another month? Am not really sure why but am torn. I feel guilty over something I am not even sure what it is. Is there a mother out there? Please tell me this is normal.

So this is my dress, supposedly for tonights date. Was planning on curling my hair, but since the date didn't push through i put it up again on my usual mommy hair do.

Today I've learned something about myself. Am really in that zone now. I have become a full time mom.

ps,

i salute all my working mom friends and to all working mommies in the world, who works outside their homes and still do all the work at home. I know it is hard. Because ALL mothers are working mothers. Hooray!

Something White

inspirational photos from Freshome.com

Since am getting my energy back am so excited to move to the next bigger room of our apartment. Right now am obsessed with white. White walls, white fluffy beddings or a pinch of color so it won't be boring, light curtains. Cos white creates the illusion of space and we need a lot of space now that we're having a baby. The huge white closet on the last photo looks exactly like our closet, only in oak brown, so all I have to do is paint the room white and everything in it and bring in some colorful paintings and hang photographs. It's gonna be a lot of work but am going for it.

Sometimes am overwhelmed by the changes in our lives. Honestly am very excited but at the same time am a little scared too. After all , this little person inside me, I haven't even met yet, is already turning my life upside down, (for the last couple of months, making my stomach upside down,) making unexpected demands on me, both physically and emotionally. Every aspect of our lifesyle - from how we spend our evenings, our money to what to eat and drink and where to go is already changing. Everything's changing. My body is changing. But one thing is for sure, this is a life changing experience that's likely to bring change for the better.

Cabin Fever

We live in a two bedroom apartment. We sleep in the smaller room that has a patio and the view of the neighborhood. Did i say smaller room? Especially when you share it with a big dog, he kinda gets all the space. I have a feeling that in Koffy's point of view this is his room and we're taking all his space. So we're thinking of moving some things, just rearranging the bed and my dresser and the tv. Yeah just the bed, the Tv and the dresser. That's how small our room is. So where's our closet? The other big room that is! hihihihi.

What i love about this room is the huge glass doors. And this apartment has been home for us since we got married. I love this place. I remember the first day we moved here. We only have two of everything. Two glasses, two plates, two sets of fork and spoon and six seater dinning table. It's like our own little play house. It's nice to see some little additions since then. We're still playing house i think, just the two of us and of course with Koffy our first born.

Have a great Tuesday everyone!
