9 of 17 Dresses - Dusk

I love dusk. It is my absolute favorite time of the day. When i was a little girl and I can't read the clock, it's the combination of the bright colors blue, yellow and orange that says my parents are about to go home from work. My brother and I would wait on our driveway and wait for my dad, who's a farmer by the way, and from the moment we saw him on his bike and the peculiar over-worn look of his straw hat, even hundreds of meters away, we'd race towards him and then the three of us would squeeze together on his bike going back home,- my brother riding in front of him and me on the back.

Back in College, it was sometime dusk for my every last class. Id look at the window and see cars going by with their headlights on. Everyone had a place to go, something to do, and girls looking pretty on their cutest clothes with their man on their side, the night was just beginning.. And me, obviously sounding incredibly very lonely.Well there's something romantic and, or depressing about dusk. While the sun going down, the air smells like burning leaves and you long for someone to share it with. I am most peaceful and clear headed at dusk and a coffee on my hand is an overkill but that's the perfect scene for me as i say hello to a couple of seconds to my most beloved time of the day.

And it was also dusk that my husband and i saw each other again after ten long years since high school. So i love dusk, i love everything that comes with it. Seems to appear as thought things are changing - more exciting.

Have a great day everyone!

Am sorry for my lame attempt to blow bubbles.

Today's a good day. We went out to grab coffee and walked (the other) Koffy late afternoon and I wore this thrifted dress i bought for 1$. Wish it could have been longer, but can't complain, cos this dress is soooo much perfect for the summer heat we have now. And by the way, am including the shoplifting dress on the 17 dresses give-away. yey! You're all very convincing and I don't want to break your heart.

Have a great week everyone! Once again thank you, I always appreciate your visit and comments.

And also, thank you Jade for my belt. I love it.

Where in the World You'd Like to Wake Up Tomorrow?

mommy51

Tomorrow, id like to wake up beside my mom, hug her and kiss her, and sing her a happy birthday.

I love her.
I miss her...
and i adore her.

Just two nights ago she texted me that she was stopped at the airport and got surrounded by a number of security people cos her scan tells or looks somewhat like she just made a bomb. Well turns out, her love for lotion got her in trouble this time. Don't worry she loves the attention. And it was fun for her. According to her it was a very thrilling experience she'll never forget and she wants to do it again.

Please mom don't get in too much trouble. That will go to your permanent record.

Love you mom. Happy 51st birthday. Enjoy your day. Break a leg...or not.

Okay crazy kids, settle down....

Now, drool!

Isn't this dress just perfect?

I thrifted this for 1.5$$$. But....am torn and confused if i should include this to the 17 dresses giveaway. I really am. Cos seriously when will i ever find something like this again, right? But promise is a promise, though it might be personally unpopular for me it's still a promise. But in case of some unfortunate disaster like for example someone steal this dress, say tomorrow, of course it won't be included now wouldn't it?

Okay convince me. If I were you, would you include this to the 17 dresses giveaway?

Okay got to go. Gonna shoplift some cotton, milk, detergent soap and eggs. Wish me luck.

6 of 17 Dresses - High School Blues

I should be sleeping now but adrenalin's pumping so i might as well be productive. Well, I saw a high school friend today after 16 years. It was a blast! She looked the same, more prettier and youthful and definitely happier. Seeing her once again is definitely the highlights of the day. We weren't close friends back then, cos I guess we're both shy, or am shy. But we're okay, we liked each other, we go to same church but we never got the chance to develop a deep relationship also known as the pajama party nights. Okay, honestly I don't have that many friends. I usually have one girl best friend plus (sometimes) boy best friend. That person is usually the first one sitting beside me or the one in front of me on the line and that's it, we'll be best friends forever. Promise! True story.

I don't know, I don't like High School much to be honest. Am introvert. Am shy. I don't like Math, Physics, Chemistry and P.E. Agh! Okay Ill stop, I can't remember much anymore of it. But i do remember those long letters i wrote to the boys i like. hehehe.

Maybe if i go back to High School now Id be ready. Cos now that am older, Ill have more friends and much more boyfriends and still fail Math, Chemistry, Physics but Ill pass P.E for realzzzzz this time.

How about you? You wanna go back to High School?

For someone like me that has no visible waist and not blessed with a mile long legs, tulip dresses and tulip skirts gave me the shape and length i always pray to have every Christmas, Halloween, Valentines day, Best Friends day, George Washington day, Rizal day, Oblation run day, Ramadan day(?) or even to the Chinese god every Chinese New Year, and to every holiday gods you can possibly think of. Oh and i also pray to Momma Oprah. c",) Or maybe am praying to the wrong god that's why am short?

...I don't know. But right now the Sun god is soooooo angry hot. We're in the height of summer here but all I can think of are layers, fur and more black outfit. Ambitious much?

So I got this black dress for 1.5 dohlas. Actually i may already have this kind of dress that i bought from Memo a year ago for 20$. Told yah. Thrift stores are ca-raaaay-zey!

Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Anna Sui

What can i say, but be forever grateful to thrift shops. I told you, thrift stores are full of mystery and surprises one will always be blown away by the array and richness of combined art, nature, and trend. And maybe, one fateful day, you'll be a lucky inglorious basterd like me, you'll find a designer piece like this one I've found late last year. Actually I've worn this many times and this is the only chance we got to photographed it properly. I love the patchwork of flowers and bright colors so it looks good and perfect as a summer dress. And it's white too. Glad to say it's a win-win-win for me.

Yes this is Anna Sui which i got for 4$. A bit expensive from my usual dollar to two dollar thrift budget, but it's Anna Sui for screaming out loud, so shelling out 4$ (or someday my liver for future fantabulous designer finds) is not that hard at all.

Husband knows how much i love drama so he gave me a lomo camera. I took all the photos, but of course except the last two. Believe me you can never go wrong with lomography. Very dummy friendly. Yey! The effects are endless, easy to use, meaning not very technical and the vignetting effect is soooooo cool. Am in love. More photos here.

And thank you all so much for all the birthday greetings. It means so much to me. Cos in a society that taught women not to celebrate each year of life, especially those numbers obsolete on the calendar, but to hide the increasing years behind a bland smile and denial. Well consider me a rebel on that society. Because am really so excited to be 30 plus soon. So, do i want to go back and be young again? NO. Cos in fact i hate being in High School or i wasn't very happy then. When i was younger, at that time in my life, I was not happy with myself most of all. When all i want to be is become brave, daring, coy and seductive like other girls my age, I was the opposite. The truth is I was shy and unsure. I did not like my body or my face. Well, i did not become tall and sexy and seductive when i got old. But getting older, having white hair, more wrinkles, and added sack of pounds, and some occasional joint pain definitely gave me the boldness and confidence I didn't have before. I am happier now. Am more at peace. And nothing confuses me anymore. Cheers to 30!

Have a great day everyone!
