I hate my foot right now. Before my pregnancy I was a 7. And then you know how pregnancy works and how it affects your whole body. My nose got bigger, my hands fatter, my rolls multiplied and my foot got wider. On my last month of pregnancy I was a 9. NINE!!! Making a human being is hard. You have no control over your nose, or your hair falling off, your gas and your foot. Then, two and a half years ago my oven  popped out a beautiful human being. You can almost stick your fork to him and say, He is well done. I am proud of what my body has just created. Slowly my nose, hands, arms and legs stopped getting bigger. My rolls stayed with me. Not complaining, my son loves them. And my foot, oh.my.foot...thank God that after all the bloat have subsided I stayed 8 for two years. And I was excited though. It gave me an excuse to shop for new shoes. And shop I did. Well, you know that....

 

About 6 months ago I noticed how slowly my foot were shrinking. My boots started to get lose and once, I slipped out of my heels while walking. I had to spread out all my toes just to get a grip on my shoes and continue walking.  Man, are you kidding me??? My foot were shrinking.  After much deliberation (wow! strong words for a foot size problem) I sold some of my shoes. Some boots had to stay because I love love love them. After all there's nothing a double socks and foot pads can't fix.

 

Of course when you're in the middle of a shrinking foot drama, shoes is gonna be the last thing on your mind. Or at least I tried to push some shoe thoughts way way way back on my mind. Today I measure 23.3cm.  That's barely 7.5. Well, I am fine with it. Since I am feeling confident about my new shoe size, I finally did some shoe shopping. This is the first time this year that I am shopping for shoes and it's August. Seriously, I am really excited for these shoes. Can you tell????

Darn it! It's a universal truth that no matter how healthy our self esteem, we all have little quirks about ourselves we wish we could fix. Some people wish they could sing better, or remember names better, others want to stop smoking or quit biting their toenails, or stop pick their nose while inside their car, or some people wish they had the courage to stop being nice to their evil friends. Me - I wished like hell that I'd learn to stop liking shoes. Or at least have the control to stop drooling at shoe stores. But I am a girl. I dream of shoes. I talk to shoes. Heck Id diaper them if they go wee wee. But it was the principle of the thing. Girls love shoes. Sometimes some of them run a bit huge on me, but then I find myself strategically thinking how many cotton balls Id have to stuff in the toes to wear them on my date with Jayson and Yllac. 

But I can see you're nodding. I bet you're crazy too. I mean we only got one set of feet but how come we buy lots of shoes? Ladies huh?..... I guess shoe menopause isn't happening or will never happen to all of us.

These Shoes Will Change My Life

first, let me tell yah that this is a practice in narcissism....

I am 98% honest when i tell you that I haven't been shopping for the last six months. I swear, I am not lying. Eeeeeeeexcept some thrift dresses that costs about less than a hundred pesos each. There you go!

So anyway, I scored these shoes from a recent GoJane major sale. I'd like to think of it as one or two oooor three(?)-shoe-purchase a month. So i feel good as a wife and mom over here. Now, let's get a little bit serious about our shopping habit shall we? I mean, lately, as a shit fashion consumer, i've been constantly thinking about some life changing purchases. I mean, a purchase that will make you feel better, maybe a shoe (in my case) that will make me feel thinner, taller. A pair of heels that will make my cankles disappear, and will make my toes skinnier and my boxy feet sexy. Brain wise, a little purchase that will make me intelligent-er. Just waiting for these shoes is kinda transforming me already little by little to this new woman I will become. I may be triple looney but I am not an emotional shopper. Deny. Deny. Deny. I am really not. I don't shop when I'm sad, angry or happy. I shop because it's on SALE! And they are nice. And I need them. Then that makes me happy and jubilant and glowing and hopeful and am all whoopee all day until the shoes arrive. And then i realize that I have an addiction with boots that will never show my imaginary slimmed down toes. The red sandals won't be used because it's raining down here almost everyday. And here I am almost 33 years old (9 more months people!), same age, may I point out, as Jesus when he was crucified, died, rose from the dead after three fa-reeking days and saved the world. That's a major accomplishment for a 33 year old ei? Oh, well...

I always feel guilty whenever I compare myself to ......, and think about.....

I guess I will never finish a good, meaningful sentence whenever I am bothered by the guilt of materialism and or that certain shoe that seems to promise something in my life as a woman. I mean we are women, we always come up with something new all the time. We have problems, we're confused, we have periods, we go through puberty our entire lives, we have hormones, we like mixed drinks with strange names. Most of all, we love love LOVE shoes. That kind of crazy love.

Look Who's Ready For Valentines

yup! someone's getting too excited for Valentines. (considering I am not/never a Vday romantic for the last 30 years) Well you can blame this Mommy-thing. I guess being a mom gave me this new excitement and a feeling of adventure for all the occasions and holidays you can name. It's all for Yllac. I don't want to be a grumpy Mom. I am so ready to wear my heart anywhere, everywhere. It's fun. It's fun. It's fun!!!!

So let's start with my shoes. My most hard working green flats needs some love....

 so i cut two hearts from a glittery felt paper and attached it to my shoes using a double-sided tape.

Voila! and we are ready for Valentines!

Hi!!!! I am letting go some of my shoes today at my second-hand store. I love love LOVE them still but they don't fit me well. They are either a bit tight or really big on my foot. I tried my very best, i know i did, to make my foot bigger or smaller but nothing seems to happen. So if you're an 8 (24.5cm) or 8.5 (25cm) or 9 (25.5cm) you might wanna check them out HERE.

DIY Striped Shoes

I saw these boots yesterday morning and thought, well, I can do something like that with my old, not-so-favorite shoes. And guess what????! It's actually suuuuuper easy and real fun.

first (of course) pick a shoe.

with the help of a masking tape, make a guide. Then start painting with the color of your choice.

After letting it dry overnight, you can start removing the masking tape guide, which is the real fun part of this project. At least for me.

Voila! I got myself a new shoes. Hope you all have a fabulous time stripe-ing your own shoes too.

DIY Color Block Boots

I just made this today and i felt good. This is definitely the cheapest form of therapy. Am telling you, you should try this.

Remember this boots? I like it, but not so much. Looks a bit boring to me. So i gave it a much needed "shoe-lift". Nothing drastic and complicated like glitters ( because initially i wanna glitter-ify it), just paint that's all. Since, for me, camel (the color) looks good against gold and black, so i stick with those colors with this project.

This is easy really. It just took me an hour to finish one pair. All you need is a shoe, a fabric paint, two different sizes of brush ( a small pointy one would come handy especially for those hard to reach corners and curves) and a marker (optional).

Can't wait for these to dry. I think they're much much prettier now right? So what do you think? To diy or ddiy (don't do it yourself) a color block shoes?

Oh!...these custom-made leather boots i got yesterday for a whooping price of 1400php. yey! i think i deserve some sort of bragging rights for getting nice cheap shoes this year. I did well my friend! So let it be known that I am the Rockstar of all cheap things!

Now you all laugh with me Bwahahahahahaahahahaha!

Here goes, (imagine my Jesus face) I don't go to spas and salons, I don't get professional massages, just like you I am just a girl who loves shoes. Cheap, nice shoes. I am a mom without a nanny. And it is a lot of work, therefore I need shoes. I may not be good at essays but you can connect the dots am trying to make.

I know there's far more deeper and bigger problem in this world but I am conflicted. My head is gonna explode. I've never been this unsure my whole life. Help me please. There are days when I don't feel like doing anything at all. And today is that day. Believe me in my case as a mommy, most days are like that. But you have to get up, soon as the baby wants to get up. And then you realize you're not just a mom, but a cook, a wife, a friend, a house keeper, an errand girl and if everything falls into place I do get to be a wardrobe blogger too, dress up and take pictures and tweet and facebook and last but not the least I also happen to sell shoes on-line.
