Valentines Day 2014

I cannot tell you enough how much I am thankful to spend every single day with my two boys. To use the word "lucky" cannot comprehend the gratefulness in my heart whenever i look back at my life since I met Jayson. I've been a lousy wife since I became a mother. I cannot elaborate on that... But I can tell you that I am really striving hard to be a good wife since the day I saw a bunch of Jayson's office shirts all wrinkly sitting at the back of our closet, unironed, that has created a very visible crease even if you're light years away. So i wanna be good. Really really good. I wanna date my husband more. Write to him more. Kiss him more. Hug him ever so often even when there's people around. Remember that spark and spontaneity when you started dating??? It's kind of hard to maintain that once you popped out a kid. The cuteness of your spawn will draw both of your attention towards them and sometimes you forget that you both need attention from each other too.

So last Valentines Day here in Qatar fell on the Family Day, which happens every week, every Friday. Friday is a much celebrated day here in Qatar. Every family goes out with their picnic baskets and spends almost the whole day in the park. They let their children be kids, be silly and play, the adults plopped on the grass, all happy, chattering and sharing a meal. It's a beautiful sight. It inspired me as a mom and wife. It won't be easy but it was an effort. To attempt, i feel like Im slowly getting to where I want to be as a person. I was given one chance to have my own family. So I will work hard for it. I was given the chance as a mother to mold a child's life, to nourish, love and be loved by one man. I only have one family for the rest of my life and i will take care of them.

Sooo...the photos...the photos firing at yah!

DIY Valentines Day Heart Jar

DIY Valentines Day Heart Jar

Do not throw away your mason jars just yet because you can make use of them for more fun and romantic way to decorate your home during the Valentines week. Well at least in our home. Hearts are flying all over our place. Yllac loves it. We love it.

So anyway, here's how...

DIY Valentines Day Heart Jar

you will need a spray paint, heart stickers, mason jars, and old magazines or newspaper.

scatter the heart stickers all over the jar. Stick them tight. (thank you Yllac for all the help) Nope, not really. c",)

spray from a good distance, making sure the entire jar is covered and wait for a couple of hours to dry completely.

DIY Valentines Day Heart Jar

carefully peel off the heart stickers

Place a portable battery operated LED lamp (it's safer, if only it fits the mouth of the jar) or just any candles and enjoy your Valentines Day with these decorative votive heart jar.

Happy weekend everyone! Hope everyone is having fun.

DIY Heart Bookmark

DIY Heart Bookmark

told you am on a heart attack....

i read a lot. A lot! ebooks and real books. So when am on a real book, i need a bookmark as a page keeper or i can just fold the page right? No! Well sometimes i just fold but it' not neat. So in "honor" of the Valentines I made a bookmark especially made for this occasion. Suuuuweeeeet!

it's just easy really. Just cut out two hearts. One smaller and one bigger. It's nicer to use different patterns for each heart for a better/cuter design.

DIY Heart Bookmark

paste the smaller heart into the center of the bigger heart and let it dry.

DIY Heart Bookmark

using a cutter or any utility cutter trace the bottom half of the inner heart cutting through the card beneath.

DIY Heart Bookmark

it should look like this. Cute ei?

And that's how you make a heart bookmark. Yey!

The end.

ps,
have you seen my heart on a shoe Valentines project?

Look Who's Ready For Valentines

Hearts On MY Shoes

yup! someone's getting too excited for Valentines. (considering I am not/never a Vday romantic for the last 30 years) Well you can blame this Mommy-thing. I guess being a mom gave me this new excitement and a feeling of adventure for all the occasions and holidays you can name. It's all for Yllac. I don't want to be a grumpy Mom. I am so ready to wear my heart anywhere, everywhere. It's fun. It's fun. It's fun!!!!
