Last Weekend According to My Phone... (Warning, Too Many Photos)

Last Saturday, my toddler and I drove to Clark to see two of my best friends and their two adorable kids. Two whole amazing days spent with my favorite people! I mean, I saw other types of human beings last weekend. Also, another reason is THIS THIS and THIS. That was us last year. It was so much fun so we decided to join them again. So anyway, anyway, anyway here's a photo dump from the weekend.

This is probably the coziest Starbucks I've been to. So far. I mean, I am not a Starbucks connoisseur or anything.

I guess this is the only time in your toddler's life and in your life as a mama that you can make them wear anything you like. For example this skinny pants is from the girl's section and he's totally rocking it. What you don't know won't hurt you right? So don't tell my son. Seriously, baby girls jeggings are so comfy. I mean, girls clothes are comfy and stylish. He can totally bend and run and it hugs his bum and round tummy just fine.  The sales person calls it "low rise jeans" for girls.

??????

don't care what they call it. But my, my, my he looks tall. Wow! My son has grown because of this jeggings.

Our family weekend fell on days our friends, Mr and Mrs. Smith was in town. So last Thursday while it rained (what typhoon signal #1 the news were talking about??) we took them swimming. It was cold but Yllac went for it anyway. Only Yllac and of course his Dad braved the icy cold water. 30 minutes later Yllac turned blue. So that was day one of our family weekend.

Friday turned out much better. Typhoon was gone but it was still a bit cold outside, just perfect for a jacket-kind-of-day. Leaves are falling, our toddler running, and here we have our very own Mr. and Mrs. Smith playing sitters for the day. They even paid us a box of doughnuts so they can get the job. Ah-What??? I must have done something good I do not know about that God blessed me with friends like Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Two free sitters plus a box of donuts in exchange of Yllac for a day? Oh-yeah-oh-sure-what-about-a week?? I could get used to life like this. Do you hear that Mr. & Mrs. Smith? We would love to have you everyday with us. Please don't go back to your home in Japan. You can even sit Yllac for free. Fair deal. No need for another box of doughnuts. My hips says so.....

It's good to have another fresh pairs of not just one but two sweet hands to carry Yllac and play with him and chase him around. Thank God for friends. Aaahhhh...we miss you Mr. & Mrs. Smith. See you again next time.

And to you (yes you), i wish you a great weekend.

Not too long ago, our friends who came to visit us just can't stop raving about this C' restaurant in Clark Pampanga which is famous for their panizza - a super thin and oh-so-soft-and-at-the-same-time-crisp strips of pizza you roll with arugula and that other leafy vegetable (sorry I forgot, but It was delish I can tell yah) So with an almost empty stomachs we went there on a Sunday afternoon really excited to try everything. Inside the restaurant, it was cozy, silent, a little too warm when you're carrying a toddler and dark.

Coooozy.

If you know what I mean. So unlike the uncoziness ala Jolibee. At this point at Yllac's age he can handle coziness so I am not entirely sure what made him burst out crying. I was thinking, was it the plates all over the wall or the dim lights, or the brick walls or the huge statue at the lobby of the restaurant, or the lack of a window, but he sure made known to ALL that he doesn't like the restaurant. By the way, they have high chairs too, so I guess it's a baby friendly restaurant. And as long as the babies are happy, other diners are happy too. Since we don't want them unhappy, the moment Yllac hit his highest note, we rushed him out at the back and just like that he was happy again. That top of the table was his happiest and safest place in all of the restaurant that Sunday afternoon. Jayson and I were such a team to take turns watching Yllac and pop rolls of panizza into our mouths. It was a great way to burn calories while eating. Great but not fun.

We really wanna go back for the panizza, but I guess we'll just take it out and eat them at Jollibee. Times like these, oh how much I wish Yllac was a little bigger

So any parents out there happens to read this? Do you have any tricks you can share with us on trying out new restaurants with your little ones without the baby drama? - No? Ah-What? You don't eat out until they're 18??????

I'm not sure what to tell you about running a marathon or biking because I don't know anything about it especially biking. Biking isn't my thing under my special "Zkillz" but I can tell you based on what i've seen last Sunday that runners, they are the happiest and perkiest people on the planet. They are so pumped up as to wake up early in the morning, even before the sun was about to shine or even before the Earth's worms wake up call. These runners have such great support for each other. You can tell by a lot of "go!, go!, go!" ,  "you can do it", "congrats (name), you're a monster" they say to one another. I was even tempted to shout something like that to a man who lost control of his bike and fell. Im not sure why I didn't say anything, maybe because I don't know how to bike and with his caliber I bet he won't take any advice from me with a zero bike talent.

Last Sunday, it somehow gave me a renewed enthusiasm to live actively again. Or do something completely out of my comfort zone. Seeing our friend Rolie lost a huge amount of weight, to see him so fit, healthy and so happy, to see him run in kilometers and bike and run again like it's no big deal, is so inspiring. I can see why he's so passionate about this and I can finally understand the support his wife Evelyn give him and to commit the whole family to go anywhere his next running event lead to.

So, as you can see from our camp, we all had fun. And yeah, we took a lot of photos and tried every energy drink given out there for free. And oohhhh we saw a lot of cute butts too. Man, everybody is so stinking cute in their little cycling shorts.

...told yah, running can do no harm to you but instead give you, toned legs, arms, boobs, skull and round baby butts. So tell me, do you run? Do you enjoy it? Do you join running events like this?

ps,

....keep the sunshine away from your toddler's eyes. Darn me for forgetting Yllac's ahead-of-it's-time sunglasses.

Over The Weekend

mothers and babies

Two of our best-est friends, Rolie and Evelyn and their two little ones visited and stayed with us over the weekend and the energy over here went bouncing all over the place or at least to the places we went to. Me and Jayson loves having them here. It feels too long ago since we last saw them. And we always feel terrible to see them pack and drive back to Manila because our home suddenly looks huge and silent. We always miss them. Waving goodbye is my least favorite kind of wave. Duh. Ever. So anyway, I will shut up now. See for yourself just how much fun we had....

First of all, have you ever been to one of these?
OHMYGUACAMOLESHEESH!!!!
...and followed by another set of exclamation points !!!!!!!
THIS!!!
This gives a new a meaning to, "pretty outside, ugly/yucky inside". Believe me, catheter isn't the worst thing that can happen to you.

runner

our friend Rolie finished one heck of a race. And this is not his first time. I'm sorry, I've lost count. He ran, biked and ran again for a number of kilometers the way cars do. He is caraayzee about this and for that, he is our superman. Congratulations Rolie. We are so proud of you.(more photos of the race soon)

But Rolie isn't the only one with mad running skills. We did some running (around) too of our own. No rules, no time. Just free style running, till our hair got sticky sticky to our scalp. (more photos of our babies soon)

After the race, and after we all had our much needed naps, except Yllac, Evelyn and Rolie took us to an Italian restaurant called C',  in Clark Pampanga. We all love C', except Yllac. Look at the disgust on his face. But of course our weekend is never complete without a little baby meltdown.(more photos about the meltdown C' Restaurant soon)

dancing

and in between all the fun comes even more fun with our dancing party. We all danced like a mad man, like there is no tomorrow. No coordination and grace at all. Hands flying in the air, butt shaking, It was fun and awkward and embarrassing. And I promise you, there will no more photos of that ever coming out. Not ever. Believe me, I did you a great favor. You'll thank me for that.

So how was your weekend? Please tell me you all had an amazing time. Have a great Monday y'all people of the internet, and thanks for your time.
