Hi folks! Our weekend was kind of awesome. The best! No, I mean, amazing!

The best,.. no no, the very very best time of the year has arrived here in the driest part of the world. When winter season comes, everybody is in the best of festive moods. There is no winter blues here. I think people are more happy and excited to get out and do more activities outside on winter months. Personally I felt the blues back in summer, when we couldn't go out at all because of the heat.

So anyyyyyway...let me show you some photos from our weekend. The Museum of Islamic Arts park holds a lot of activities every winter season from bazaars (like this one), to concerts and all kinds of festivals almost every weekend. Last weekend, the bazaar participants sold some clothes, accessories, arts, crafts and decor. All handmade. It was a feast for the eye.

I took a lot of pictures from the 150 participating local sellers. So if you'd like to see more photos, just click after the jump.

On Top Of My Head...

It is good to have a husband who loves you no matter what.
It is good to have a husband who listens.
It is good to have a kid . Especially a noisy one.
It is good to have a loving slash crazy friends.
It is good today for it is Thursday. To you it's Friday, in the Middle East, it's Thursday.

Yah know what I mean?

It is good to believe in God.
It is good to know that God is real.
It is good to have peace in my heart.

How's your weekend my friends? Mine was awesome! Like, capital Gaaaaa-R-E-A-T! Saturday is the most wonderful day of my week because that's the day my Aunt and his son comes to stay over at my house. That means extra pair of hands, energy, and ideas to entertain this little boy of mine. I do entertain Yllac with bubbles but am gonna be honest, Yllac likes the crowd cheering for him each time he gets near one and pops one. He likes the exaggerated sound of clapping and laughter. So I guess, the bubbles on the weekend is much more exciting for him than bubbles with me on weekdays. I'm sorry Yllac, Mama wasn't born an  octopus.  I mean look at him. Once the bubbles come out, he's crazy. ...this boy is gonna need a bubble rehab anytime soon.

Happy Monday!!!

Last Weekend According to My Phone... (Warning, Too Many Photos)

Last Saturday, my toddler and I drove to Clark to see two of my best friends and their two adorable kids. Two whole amazing days spent with my favorite people! I mean, I saw other types of human beings last weekend. Also, another reason is THIS THIS and THIS. That was us last year. It was so much fun so we decided to join them again. So anyway, anyway, anyway here's a photo dump from the weekend.

This is probably the coziest Starbucks I've been to. So far. I mean, I am not a Starbucks connoisseur or anything.

I guess this is the only time in your toddler's life and in your life as a mama that you can make them wear anything you like. For example this skinny pants is from the girl's section and he's totally rocking it. What you don't know won't hurt you right? So don't tell my son. Seriously, baby girls jeggings are so comfy. I mean, girls clothes are comfy and stylish. He can totally bend and run and it hugs his bum and round tummy just fine.  The sales person calls it "low rise jeans" for girls.

??????

don't care what they call it. But my, my, my he looks tall. Wow! My son has grown because of this jeggings.

1000th Blog Post! HEllo!!!!

IMG_20130624_055952

...this is how we roll inside the elevator.

For my 1000th blog post I wanted to talk about how our in house mosquitoes drove us out of our home last weekend... Exciting ei?

So it's been raining for the last two weeks. FUN! lemme tell you I am having fun. But last weekend we woke up to a gazillion of partying mosquitoes mostly having the time of their pesky lives on our dinning and kitchen area. Yllac served as their breakfast and they ate my legs for lunch. We were outnumbered. It was like a scene in Piranha 3DD. Yup I happened to watch that two days ago and it scared the shoot out of me. Not really. But Yllac loves it. He thinks those fish and the people are just having a rough play. So, I ran out of ammos aka baygon, but I still have a little left in one of my cans. So we decided to go out and get more. This is waaaaar people! But before all the bloodshed, I massacred three or maybe four of them inside our bedroom. Clean kill. I gassed them to death. So happy. Thrilled! And then we took off. So, how you may ask they got inside our house on the first place? Well, they happen to be so good at hiding inside our laundry. Since it's raining non stop last week, we dry our clothes on the shaded area at the back of our home. Little did we know, that these piranha mosquitoes hide inside our clothes and they unleash their deamoness when they reach inside our home. Brilliant pests! But God made people intelligenter than these goons and BAAAM! - on the eight day, there was Baygon.

So anyhoooo... I took a lot of pictures that day too. What else is new?  Here they are.

These days, Mickey Mouse is our third wheel. Goes with us everywhere. Also last weekend, was the cheapest date of my life. I ordered two servings of maki for me and a bowl of sticky rice for Yllac and two glasses of red iced tea for 190 pesos. I mean, small town lifestyle is groovin' the best of my life.

Sooooo, this is my 1000th post. WOW! I am a talker huh? Seriously, I don't know what I'm doing here talking about bits and pieces of my life. Right now, I felt like a totally different person from the person I was when I started this blog. A lot has changed. And what a surprise that you are still here. Thank you for being a huge supporter of this blog all these years. Sometimes I wonder what you really think of me? But I choose not to know. Those are some dangerous territories I am not gonna explore. But you know, I can't choose what people will take from this blog, but I hope you will take with you the spirit and message of finding the joy and fun in life. Life is not perfect. In a perfect world, we're all Brad Pitts and Angelina Jolies. But we're not. I am Denise and you are YOU. Unique. Sometimes life is a big freak, but I choose to look at what I am blessed than seek for what I do not have. It's a lot of work, will power and a lot of self hypnosis to find the joy in my daily life. I guess it's all about positivity. It's difficult but not impossible. c",) Happy Wednesday folks.

Fist pump to 1000th post! yay!

Last weekend, I realized that we Filipinos can't let go of Christmas that quick. I mean, look at this big cone Christmas tree!!!

Last weekend, i realized just how old we are as a parent to a two year old baby boy. I mean, those slide ladder is difficult to climb. And I am afraid of heights. Wish I was 24 when i became a mother. But then, I was still a baby when i was 24 up until my 30.

Last weekend, Yllac and Jayson found some glorious goo and spit and booger or whateveryoucallit all over that playground. Gee, I am telling you, kids are  walking, cute, bacterias.

also last weekend I think I lost my appetite for accessories. I just poked at them and that's it. I am growing up.

Last weekend was cold. Have I told you that?

Last weekend.... I kinda drank a big bottle of Royal Tru- Orange. And it's not even a real orange.

Last weekend I let Yllac sip (and when I say sip, I meant sip everything from his sippy cup) this Royal tru-orange and he got a bad tonsils for it.

Last weekend I badly wanted a snow. I haven't seen one, haven't touched one. I want a snow. A 3rd-world girl can dream.

Last weekend was good for me. It gave me peace and confidence i really need. Seeing people I've known all my life was therapeutic. These last few weeks was hazy and blurry but lately it's all coming clear finally.

Last weekend we ate taco chips and salsa in bed. We're covered in crumbles and the sheet is a mess but we're feeling blessed. We're cozy and we are blessed.

Over The Weekend With Mr. & Mrs. Smith

Our family weekend fell on days our friends, Mr and Mrs. Smith was in town. So last Thursday while it rained (what typhoon signal #1 the news were talking about??) we took them swimming. It was cold but Yllac went for it anyway. Only Yllac and of course his Dad braved the icy cold water. 30 minutes later Yllac turned blue. So that was day one of our family weekend.

Friday turned out much better. Typhoon was gone but it was still a bit cold outside, just perfect for a jacket-kind-of-day. Leaves are falling, our toddler running, and here we have our very own Mr. and Mrs. Smith playing sitters for the day. They even paid us a box of doughnuts so they can get the job. Ah-What??? I must have done something good I do not know about that God blessed me with friends like Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Two free sitters plus a box of donuts in exchange of Yllac for a day? Oh-yeah-oh-sure-what-about-a week?? I could get used to life like this. Do you hear that Mr. & Mrs. Smith? We would love to have you everyday with us. Please don't go back to your home in Japan. You can even sit Yllac for free. Fair deal. No need for another box of doughnuts. My hips says so.....

It's good to have another fresh pairs of not just one but two sweet hands to carry Yllac and play with him and chase him around. Thank God for friends. Aaahhhh...we miss you Mr. & Mrs. Smith. See you again next time.

And to you (yes you), i wish you a great weekend.
