Around Here Lately...

So, Hi! Hi! Hi! hello! hello! hello! hello!  to you! Woooohooo, that's the coffee talking but, you know what, I wanna say Hi to you too.

Anyway, anyway, anyway, Lemme tell you something about myself theses days. So every night before 8 pm I go to bed close to being dead. Thanks to the little dude I live with, and his refusal to take a nap during the day. Soon as he hit the bed and closes his eyes I drained the last of my batteries to tidy up the house and just completely let myself feel the exhaustion. You know, the whole combination of doing errands, house chores plus busting a move, and cartwheeling all day plus singing all kinds of songs, from Mickey Mouse, to Hi5 to Eraserheads, yup! my boy likes the Eheads. And you know what's good about exhaustion??? it's a gift. You first feel it in your eyes and as soon as you close your eyes you'll slowly feel your whole body letting go. It's like flying. Floating. Only on your bed. Tranquilized to perfection. You can actually operate on me, take out my liver and I won't flinch. And then 10 hours passing without me knowing it, next thing I hear is the sound of my little dude calling me mama and saying over and over again, "dede" or Mama, up! Dede. I mean, I cannot remember the last time in my adult life I've had 8 hours of sleep without interruption. And lately I am scoring more than 8 hours of sleep. Am I back to being a toddler or what? And I have a feeling I am getting taller too. It's like I am in this infinite loop, operating in repeat day after day. And I love it. Am a tell yah, I can fall asleep in trenches, in spite of the roaring of canons and shrapnel over my head. Dude I am in total peace.

Anyway, anyway, anyyyyywaaay,,,, enough of the bragging.. I figure I wanna share some of the photos I took this week. Hope you enjoy them...

Last Monday, right after Yllac's class it rained faaareaking hard, just after we got inside the car. If we go straight home, and me opening the gate, I will get wet. I don't wanna take a bath last Monday so "we" decided to drive around and wait for the rain to stop. Seriously though, I am just an idiot taking a cue from a 2 year old's scream (because I know he does not want to go home yet, I can tell from his scream when he saw our house). And what do you know...when we stopped for gas I saw my little dude smiling from ear to ear. Happy as a clam. So for maybe an hour, my clam and i hang out with the cows. Fun date!

Mirror Image...

Okay, I can explain.

More than a month ago I set up my tripod outside our home hoping to shoot myself. c",) This is all I can say, It was faaaaareaking hard and difficult to shoot yourself. The timer, the running, the holding-your-breath after you've run to pose and then your timer sets off just in time for your half wink. I mean I can't do that. After all that, I gave up. I felt like a clown. I felt ridiculous. It was ridiculous.

so, this was me yesterday. After Yllac fell asleep, like a speeding cray cray bullet I picked up these two amazing thrift-find piece that I've been dying to try on since the day I got them. In my mind they would look great together. Even though they have opposing prints, but since the colors don't compete and stay in the same color pattern, they looked alright.

Oh well, I really miss dressing up, for realzzz. But for the meantime, this is fun. This imaginary outfit... as if Im going somewhere. This should be fun right? Dressing up for no reason at all. I mean, i gotta do, what I gotta do.. yah know what I mean?

Mirror Mirror On The Wall. You're a Girl's Best Friend.

The best invention in the world known to mankind is a mirror. Self explanatory really. Now, if it's a whole wall of mirror combined with the power of technology - aka phone camera .... BAM! selfie is born. It's taking a picture of yourself but with art. Wait? is selfie and mirror shot the same? ... It's just instinct really. You have your phone with you, there's a mirror and you think you looked fine...BAM!! you let the whole world know bout that. Pout, Stomach in. Chest out. Hold it… Then press click. It's crazy. It's fun. I don't know why I do it. Do you?

SO anyway, I've been documenting my looks lately with our home mirror. It's calling to me before I go out. Can't help it. It's weird. But I like it. A mirror-picture don't lie. Even without a mouth it says so much.

Lose the belt or wear a thin belt.
No, that's the wrong shoe.
Wow! Your head looks huge.
your smile is crazy!
whoah! calm down your pout.
Who poses like that?
Girl, your hair color needs a retouch

...something like that, if you know what I mean.

Seriously guuurl, can you imagine life without mirror? Can you imagine yourself looking down at a tub of water just to check yourself out. Yah know what I mean????

Let's move on to my shoes. My mirror is smart. My mirror tells me Im too old for some of my shoes resting in my shoe closet and I need to come to terms of letting them go. I KNOW! I have said this a bazillion of times. And I don't learn obviously. My mirror also tells me that Im better with my single sole heels. Not a sky high heels, but a practical height of 2 to 3 inches. My mirror keep on telling me that I need to invest in classic heels in black, brown and nude. I have found my nude a month ago from Payless. It's a classic 2.5 inch heels with a round toe shape. My mirror tells me I need to calm down when it comes to my "style". I like my mirror so I'm likely inclined to believe it.

So, tell me, what does your mirror say to you lately??? ( I cannot believe I just asked you that) But tell me anyway. Woohoo girl power!

A Black Dress Made From Netherlands...

I thrifted this dress early this year. (Like duh, Denise. People know your clothes are always from thrift) It has no tag so I can't tell the brand but there's a little tag on the left side of the dress that says "dry clean only" and that it was made from Netherlands. But it was too late because I already hand-washed it and yeah, again, let me tell yah - it's made from Netherlands. Honestly I don't know where Netherlands is. Maybe somewhere near Narnia and Hogwarts. But whatevs. It sounded like a magical place, that's why this dress is magical too.

Orange Floral and Silver Heels...

I guess this dress deserves a proper blog post other than this. Thanks Yllac.

...and I think silver heels looks good worn with every color. It shines oh so good paired with neutrals and in solid colors too. This gojane silver kitten heels that I got for less than 20$ last year is groovin' and rockin' the shoe trend this year. I mean it's cheap, it's fun and surprisingly a whole lot versatile. I bought one in gold too. But between silver and gold, silver is a more subtle metallic color. Gold is too much "out there", if you know what i mean. Even in jewelry, i prefer silver than gold. Mind you, gold does not agree with my sweat. Ew and TMI.

Happy Monday folks!

I have always loved vintage inspired clothes - the full long skirts and dresses. Maybe it's because, since my mom gave me her I love Lucy DVDs 5 years ago I just couldn't get it out of my mind: the happy endings, always happy ending, the theme song, the fashion and of course, of course the laughter, Lucy's antics and who can forget vitameatavegamin. That show was brilliant. If you aren't familiar with I Love Lucy, oh boy, oh boy, you better start now. You'll thank me later. Also, I am not sorry that the theme song will get stuck in your head for all eternity..... i love lucy, i love lucy and luuuuuucy looooves meeee. Told you.

Can You See Me Now?

You ought to know by now, I am not color shy. c",)

I love colorful outfit. It's like, remember that feeling of opening your new crayon box? All those colors to play with....just fun! Colorful outfit brings a lot of excitement and energy, well at least for me. I know not all people are comfortable with bright colors. It's a choice. You can always drench yourself with color - or not! So if you're a bit of color shy, you can start mixing a bright piece with black or gray to mute the look. A vivid bag or hat also does the trick. Or, a lady can always start with her lips. Yup! Red lips is a great start. If you can rock red lips, sure you can rock anything.

Happy weekend guys!

What's my excuse? - this dress is very light and breezy. But the real excuse... I wish I am very comfortable with my own arms... I am just not. I cannot recall a single day in my whole life that I wanted to show them. It's not that horrible looking. It's a normal, regular set of arms. Anyway, I can't explain why really. Maybe it's a psychological thing? Please define me? Because even in my dreams I dare not show my arms. What about you? Do you love your arms? Okay, this is silly. Ignore the arm question. Okay, I thought of a better one. What would you rather show? - your arms or your legs?
