Story Of My Life

DSC_3968

I was going through my hard drive today and I saw this photo. Usually, to have more space in my life (the external hard drive, that is) id delete this one and some many many more. But I just can't fa-reeeking do it.

You see, my dear darling husband takes all my photos. Past. Present. Future. And maybe if I were good, the next life too, in heaven. And i love him. I guess, it's about time to humble brag about how awesome photographer he is. I mean, he's shooting me (with the camera of course) in manual mode even since I talked him down to shoot me (again with the camera) for this blog. He didn't have any formal training or attended any seminar. I guess having me in his life is enough inspiration to do his best. He did not say that. Am sorry. I lied with that one.

Moving on....

I mean, I have no mad posing skills, I do not have a mad-fashion-blogger sense. Geesh, I am not a fashion blogger. But he thinks I am, so I have no choice but to feed his illusion. And playing along I got him stuck with me.Poor guy.

The point is....

Here is a photo he took, weeks ago  (with a manual focus prime lens, my spirit leaving me) my dear darling husband behind the camera who happens to be holding a squirming baby boy, trying to get a clean shot of his wife playing "glamorous fashion blogger".

Oh well.

Today I forced him to stop by the port. He did not complain. He got out of the car carrying Yllac and his camera on his shoulder. He told me to jump to the sea stop walking because "I am on the perfect spot" according to him. He took a couple of shots with Yllac's little hands on the lens and half the time those little fingers found their way through Jayson's nose.

I can't delete these photos. Too many stories.

So listen...

...people of the internet, my husband, is the husband of my dreams!

he is my knight in shining photographerness slash electrical engineeringness in one.

That photo sums up the last 7 years of our life in silliness. And I love it.

90% of my closet is a charming combination of thrift buys and gifts from friends, families and people I came to know from blogging. I am more than happy and grateful for all these wonderful gifts and all these generous people with  heartssss of gold who ask nothing in return. Told you they are godsend! I don't deserve them, I know deep inside I don't - these nice people and their gifts. It takes a lot of grace to accept and not throw myself on the floor and make a big deal about this and eventually do the rude thing by "out gifting" them in return. Maybe I should shut up now and just say thank you and believe in myself more because of these people in my life who "likes" me.

So please, let me say thank you a million times as I can (hope not to irritate you). I owe you so much. I know, it's more than just stuff. Personally, when someone is generous towards me I consider accepting the generosity as a way of letting the giver be a more chivalrous man.

To all the givers out there, God bless you most! ... and good afternoon to you.

Maxi skirts are fantabulous! it's like getting yourself a skirt and a dress - that can be styled with belt, for a price of one. And for those eight feet tall girls, I say, you have got yourselves a flowy tube top and of course a mini skirt. Yey! Told you maxis are brilliant - - A smart buy.

I wish you all a very looooooooong weekend. Have a great time!

Yllac and Jhanell

Now Yllac, listen to mommy...., when a baby girl wants to give you a kiss you just say YES!

Learn from your Dad. He said yes to me and now you are here.

Seven years ago, on a starry night, your Dad and I went out after not seeing each other for about a week. When he came home from Baguio, he gave me two huge ube jars and flowers. He smiled a lot too that night without saying much of a word. We were just dating then. We knew at that point we're more than just friends. I believe he chickened out to ask what's our real deal and since I hate to do the talking, I asked him if i can kiss him instead and he said yes!

End of his life story.

Maybe, seventeen years from now, you'll see these pictures and you'll kick yourself for being such a baby. And we all thought, it's us girls who has issues.

love,
Mommy (and I know best)

Summer, I Am So Over You

And I am really glad about that. I know summer is cool and hipster and all that, but it has got to go by now.

This outfit marks the transition between the horrifying summer (say hello to my sausage toes) and the rainy season (black cardigan, bag and shoes) which by the way I am looking forward for such a long time. Sometimes i scare myself for including "rain" in my prayers. I mean who here prays for rain before you eat? (thank you Lord for this food we're about to eat, make it delicious please, and oh, make it rain too? come on, you can do it!!!!) I do!

You know what I mean? We all ask for things that seems easy to be given but for some reason, it's always never that easy....

I wonder why.

Beats the banana out of me.

Bedroom Tour

I am neat. Well, used to be. Being a mom for almost 17 months now, I've learned to let my baby rule the house. See the evidence? I used to follow him around and tidy up every hour, but that's just exhausting. Finally let myself throw in the towel and let all these pretty clutter hang around everywhere the house. They can wait. And hey, this is a home, not an art gallery. c",)

Silly excuse, I know!

Sometimes i find myself so antsy and impatient for this little boy to give in to sleep so i can do my work around our home. Being stay at home doesn't give you a punch card type of working hours. Which is sometimes good. It's my excuse for being lazy am a tell you. But being at home comes with a lot of expectation to do everything in under 24 hours. Which is crazy. You know, keep the baby healthy and breathing, cook, clean and if it's possible, look like you just stepped out of a beauty salon. So my solution is to let things happen in a natural way. I will never push Yllac to sleep fast. (am close to putting a spell on him each time he's fighting sleep, which is every single day) A funny thing though, honestly, everyday, I am wishing for a bedtime to come early, It's my favorite time of the day to get the silence i need, and work and clean. But just when am about put Yllac to bed, I just wanna cuddle and wake him up because I miss him already. Mommies are weird am a tell you.

Seeing these photos make me look at myself and say, well, this is my life now. Toys everywhere, under our bed. Toy car in our toilet , dinosaur in my closet. And am okay with that. Because I love him. Never in my life I imagine myself loving this way. I mean, dinosaur hanging in my closet and car in the toilet? Who gets to have that? I mean, I only got three hours for myself during the day, but am okay with that. The rest of the day is for him. To play, read and laugh and grow.....This is my life now.

I love Ramen Bar. I love a restaurant that offers limited dishes to chose from but every single one is equally amazing. Plus i love noodles. If i were a noodle id be spicy. c",)

It's a first for me to celebrate Mother's Day with another mom (my best friend with two kids! bless her) And i got to say it's much fun with all the power of our babies combined, what a day! We started our celebration with BonChon. Yum! It's another first for me and Jayson too. I ordered fish and fries. I know it's a chicken joint and I got myself a fish? But BonChon's fish is good. I got to taste the chicken too from my husband's plate of course. Crrrrrrrunchy! So I am very excited for a branch opening soon at Subic. (hey 30 minute drive is better than 3 hours drive to Manila) So after all that carb fueling lunch off to play we go. An hour of playing and screaming later, we were all tired. So am pretty jealous of this baby who got to power nap for an hour. Thank you Jayson for forgetting to bring the stroller exactly on Mother's Day. Thank you for the reminder. My right arm pretty sure seized that moment.

I love this year's Mother's Day.  I love the food, all the walking and doughnut and iced latte, and the huge burger Jayson and I shared for dinner. It was a very tiring day but real nice.

To my dear Jayson. To My Yllac Lorenzo. You are the awesome-st part of my life. Motherhood and marriage has been my greatest adventure and i love it. Thank you so much for making me a wife and a Mom. I owe the two of you this once in a lifetime chance. I love you boys. You two are my favorite.

I hope all moms had a great Mother's Day! I mean, even if it's not mother's day, merely looking at the family we've made with love and gratitude feels like a reason to celebrate right?

ps, to those asking where I got Yllac's pants, it's from Sm department store. And am wearing a thrift dress. c",) awesome print ei?
